Activity
This will be the most important meeting of the year. Why?
- Because we are going to develop a craft schedule for the entire 2024 year. We need your input doing this so we can schedule shell craft projects that you really want to learn about and make. Check out the BSC’s Pinterest “boards” which include over 3000 “pins” of really cool shell craft projects. These boards always inspire!!!!!! I’ll send a list of the club’s Pinterest shell craft links soon.
- We need your help getting our crafts ready for the Shell Show Craft Sales Tables. There´ are lots of jobs you can help with during the meeting:
- There are some unfinished crafts you can help us complete.
- Also, some crafts require minor repairs. Doing these in advance saves a lot of time during setup and allows volunteers to focus on other duties like unpacking, unwrapping, and arranging items in an attractive way on our sales tables.
- We also need your help pricing craft items. It’s probably the hardest job during the setup process. Involving more craft club members in “pricing” the crafts will not only save time during setup, but should also help us come up with better prices overall.
- And wait—-there’s more!!!!!!!
- We want your ideas about displaying various items. There’s lots of room for improvement in this area, and again, the more members involved, the better the outcome.
- Bagging and pricing shells is another task we need help with. We have several bags of shells to rebag and price at the meeting. We also want your suggestions about shells you think we should order for resale at the shell show. Include shells you want us to buy for use at our craft meetings. Search for wholesale shell shops online to see what’s available. Send me a list of shells you propose we buy ASAP and include the website. Keep in mind that inventory quickly changes, so shells you want may be sold out when ordered.
- And finally, we will have a few items available, ie, small frames, styrofoam balls, and trees for you to embellish with shells during the meeting and take home if necessary to complete. You can bring finished items to the craft sales table at the shell show.
- There are some unfinished crafts you can help us complete.
Bring your usual supplies and tools to the meeting.
