Meeting Details
When: Monday night, August 5th, 2024

August 5th Broward Shell Club Craft Group! This month’s meeting we will be making frames with shells. We will be gluing shells, sea glass, coral, and driftwood to picture frames. We will be showing how to make flowers and other designs with shells so you can glue them to the frames as well! Please bring picture frames or shadow boxes along with your favorite shells, coral, sea glass, etc. You will also need glue guns or tacky glue. We will have supplies, frames, and shells for sale like usual but we will not be putting out free supplies anymore until members start donating craft items for the upcoming shell show. If you would like to donate any shells or shell crafts for the shell show that you have made at home you can bring them to the meeting and give them to the craft coordinator Crystal. We really need to start coming up with more craft donations or we will have nothing to sell at the shell show whose profits go towards paying for our club meetings. Can’t wait to see all the amazing things we make this month at our meeting and hope to see you there!
Here’s the suggested general supply list suggested for any shell project:
- Placemat to cover work area
- Glue gun- Be sure it’s a high temp glue gun
- Glue sticks- for high temp glue guns
- Silicon glue pad. These are available near the hot glue section at craft stores. Loaners are available at meeting also
- Scissors
- Tweezers
- Xacto knife
- Glue such as tacky gel glue
- Crazy glue or other fast drying glue

Please feel free to bring any of your personal crafts you have made to show the rest of the Club. We love to learn from each other and are looking for suggestions for future meetings.
